The Snowy Day

Wednesday was a snowy day, our first good snowstorm this winter. My husband was sick, so after dropping Big Bro off at preschool I took care of the livestock routine:

1. Fill the water jug with hot water from the bathtub for the animals so it won't freeze as quickly.

2. Take happy dog with me out into the snowy wonderland.

3. Water chickens who are still huddled in their coop.

4. Water goats after tipping snow out of water bucket. Empty old hay out of feed bag. Goats still hiding in their house.

5. Feed chickens who are finally emerging into the cold yard under the safety of the roof's overhang.

6. Get hay for goats. They emerge from their hut and start eating out of the bag even before I can properly hang it back up.

7. Collect eggs.

8. Go back inside with happy dog.
