Overly-Engaged

Dada of Ma'at and I take pride in being civically engaged. It's a way to help our community and fulfill our own interests in a meaningful way. He's into politics, I'm into town planning, and of course, climate change.

Recently he joined a second Board and I have dived right into getting the Burlington chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby up and running.

This means he has meetings on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, and the 2nd Tuesday of every month. One of his Boards had a surprise meeting due to a new law making its way through State legislative committees.

I have meetings the first and third Wednesday of every month, and if there is a 5th Monday in a month (which happens quarterly) there is yet another meeting. I also have Citizens Climate Lobby meetings the first Saturday of each month.

With spring upon us, so is construction season which means my board that was mostly dormant all winter is coming back to life.

In the last 3 weeks Dada of Ma'at and I  had 2 weeks where there were 3 evening meetings, not to mention the CCL group start up workshop last weekend and our regular monthly CCL meeting this coming weekend (if you're local come join us!).

We didn't really think about calendars when we both talked about doing these various civic activities. Now it's coming back to haunt us.

We are civically over-engaged, yet locked in for 3 year terms. Oops.
